WELD

WELD

The Women's Empowerment Leadership Development – WELD – initiative took flight in February, 2015 when a group of women came together to share concerns about the trials and tribulations impacting women and young girls in today's society. We discussed the impact of domestic abuse and the need for empowerment based advocacy.

We vowed to take action to empower women and girls to be courageous in reaching for their dreams, and fearless in pursuing them.

With the support of our community partners and donors, our food pantry gave out 350 turkeys in 2020 and 400 turkeys in 2021. Kissimmee Police Department joined us at McLaren Circle where organizations such as the Red Cross and the City of St. Cloud came to pick up turkeys to distribute.

WELD is a platform that connects, educates, and supports women of all ages and backgrounds who are seeking mentorship or facing tribulations.

We are always looking for imaginative ways to empower girls and women to lead stronger, more confident lives.

Our vision is to empower women through mentorship, networking, and volunteerism.

Mission Statement: Together we Rise . . . Together we Empower . . . Together we stand Strong.

Family Empowerment Night

Mercy Foundation hosts Family Empowerment Events with Help Now of Osceola and local law enforcement. These events have main topics to focus on and include guest speakers and audience involvement and participation. They discuss topics such as communication and honesty, making plans for when problems arise, and having fun together as a family.

The goal of the Family Empowerment Events is to provide families with the skills they need to succeed in creating a healthy family dynamic and atmosphere. The foundation also encourages families to seek help if they cannot mend their problems on their own, showing them that it is okay to communicate their needs. Domestic violence support information is always provided.
